How to get referrals is a critical question in marketing your private practice.Of all the questions I receive on an on-going basis, “how do I get more referrals” has got to be at the top of the list.

For many, referrals are the lifeblood of their practice; and while I believe it’s important to have more than one channel for getting new clients, there’s no denying that referrals play an important role in most private practices.

But where do you find out how to do it?  Why is it that some people seem to just naturally get a flow of referrals to their practice and others can’t seem to get more than just a few sporadic referrals, if any at all?

Those who do get more referrals don’t seem to have anything more in their practice than you do…but maybe it’s how they put all the pieces together that makes the difference.

Have you wondered what is the secret to getting more referrals?

Well, I’m here to help you with a BRAND NEW complimentary teleseminar that I’m hosting next Tuesday, March 29th. It’s called “Solving the Referral Puzzle” and during the call I’ll share with you:

  • Why building a strong referral system is the most important thing you can do for your business.
  • The five critical pieces that belong in your referral system and why they are important to your success.
  • The one pivot point that stops most people from getting referrals and how you can overcome it.
  • The three things you must be doing to get quality referrals for your private practice.
  • What people who make referrals wish everyone knew.

This is must-have information if you want to build a strong referral machine for your practice.   There is no cost for the call, this is my treat to you for being a loyal subscriber, so don’t miss this opportunity.

I live in a rural area outside a fairly large city. I have tried multiple avenues in an effort to acquire new referrals. I have been in practice for four years and have yet to build up to a part-time practice. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to do a mass mailing choosing people randomly from the phone book including a brochure describing the services I provide, etc.

    Thanks,

@Sherry, I’m sure it’s gotten frustrating, Sherry, trying to build your practice and getting such dismal results. However, your idea of creating a mailing list from the telephone book is way too random. Because you have no information other than address, you risk sending the bulk of your letters to people who are not candidates for your services. You can waste a huge amount of time and dollars and get zero results with this approach.

There’s not enough space here to go into more detail. Why don’t we plan to talk? I’ll send you an email and we can arrange to speak by phone.

Thank you for posting your question. I’m sure others have thought of similar ideas so this was a good opportunity to talk about the downside.

    Dianne
