It&#8217;s not simply <strong>having<\/strong> a website that makes a difference. It&#8217;s having a website <strong>that&#8217;s doing a particular job<\/strong> &#8211; or fulfilling certain purposes &#8211; that makes the difference.<\/p>\n<p>In future articles, I&#8217;ll go into more detail about what&#8217;s needed to get more clients from your website, but for this first article, it&#8217;s important to understand a few basics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How Your Website Can Help You Grow Your Business<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When done right, your website:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Connects with the reader on an emotional level<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Delivers a message that resonates<\/strong> with your target market and ideal client<\/li>\n<li><strong>Positions<\/strong> you as the expert for what you do<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reinforces<\/strong> your credibility<\/li>\n<li>Allows people to research you and your services<\/li>\n<li><strong>Helps people decide<\/strong> if you have what they want:\n<ul>\n<li>if you are offering the service they want<\/li>\n<li>if working with you will help them achieve their desired outcome<\/li>\n<li>if they can have the _____ (you fill-in-the-blank) of their dreams if they work with you.\n<ul>\n<li>For <strong>dentists<\/strong>, that might be:\u00a0 the smile, the self-confidence, the pain-free life,etc.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>therapists<\/strong>, that might be: the relationship, the confidence, the career, the life, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Your website greatly influences your potential client\u2019s decision on whether or not to call you about your services.\u00a0 <\/strong>That pivotal decision is made &#8220;in the moment&#8221;, right there on your website.\u00a0 <strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Part 2, I cover what your website needs to be doing in order for it to help bring you new business.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, download <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>&#8220;The New Client Conversion Path&#8221;<\/strong><\/span>, my free graphic that describes the path your website visitors travel to become your client.\u00a0 <strong>Having this information is important <\/strong>because at any point along the path, if there is a roadblock or obstacle &#8211;
